Ironing woes

I bought a kimono from a used clothing store. It looks awesome, but it's REALLY REALLY WRINKLED and I cannot get the wrinkles out no matter what I do. I tried simply ironing it - that got out some of the wrinkles but not all. Then I ironed the opposite side for good measure, which got out more but not all. Then my mom suggested getting it wet and ironing and that got out more wrinkles but there are still some stubborn creases that refuse to go away. Is there anything else I can do?
Oh yeah, and I don't know exactly what fabric it's made of (it didn't have a tag) so I've been using the lowest iron setting and testing everything in a corner. I might just have to try raising the heat, though. :\
