Retro Flapper Girl Pins
Jan. 28th, 2007 01:08 amI'm so excited about these... I've been drooling over those Flapper buttons ever since I saw them but seeing as my dog just broke her elbow and needs orthopedic surgery, it's going to be a while before I can get them. I do have a button maker (I have four, but I used my 1" for this), though, so I made my own! Well, pins instead of the kind of buttons you buy at Joanne's, but you know what I mean, I hope.
I was inspired by the flapper shirt buttons but also by a couple of photos of vintage handmade flapper face pins I came across.

My sister and I made 4. The sequins is under the mylar layer, but the little bump in the middle is these teeeny tiny rhinestones my sister had in her "Sparkle Stash" of loose rhinestones.

Here's a shot of the back so you know what kind of button I'm talking about. :)
Edited: Mixed the pictures up. Whoops.
ETA again: Yes, I drew the girl images on my computer using PSP7. :)
