omg it's my first project post!
i have a baby shower for a co-worker to go to next saturday the 24th, i'm just finishing up a quilt for her (it's a girl!). a couple tiny details left like the bow on the bear and the cat's eyes. i'll finish the whole thing tuesday or wednesday. it's so effin cute it makes me want to throw up. i never want babies if this is what happens. here's pics of the top:

the applique is all done by hand, it was probably the most tedious thing i've ever done. no, i take that back. i have 10 hand-sewn 8" squares that are twenty pieces each (snail trail pattern) to a quilt i haven't had time to work on in a year (i'm being stubborn, i want to hand stitch the whole thing but i just don't have the time), THOSE were tedious..... but sooooo pretty in the batiks... ahh i'm getting carried away. katie's quilt... the piecing and the rest of it is all machine sewn (i <3 my morse). i have to iron it all out. actually, i should wash it first before i do anything else... i should've washed all the fabric first. i didn't and i'm afraid it's going to get funky when the fabric shrinks (hopefully it all shrinks the same so it wont make a difference. the weight of the different cotton prints is pretty close to the same throughout.)
oh yeah... i'm doing a fuzzy pink fleece backing. i think i'm going to skip the batting and just quilt the top to an extra piece of fleece, so the fleece will be doubled. we'll see. i have a ton of the pink fuzzy fleece and i want to use as much as possible (i hate pink and do not want fuzzy pink fleece kicking around my apartment). if i have leftover fleece i'll probably make a cute little kitty plushie : )
gyah... what is it about babies that makes you so GUSHY?? cute itty bitty wittle plushies..... maybe it's just time for bed :/
