Pinata Help??
Mar. 6th, 2007 12:41 pmHey crafty folks.
I'm making a pinata for my daughter's birthday... I've already made it and painted it and all of that, but before I go cutting into it to make holes for hanging and before I make the flap to fill it, I wanted to make sure if there's anything I need to know first. That way, I don't ruin it.

The pinata is round-ish (the shape of Boot's the Monkey--or at least his head--from Dora the Explorer)
example:

the candy will come out the bottom of the head, which I've made mostly flat, or as flat as I could get it...
It's going to be a pull-string pinata (where you pull the strings and one of the strings is attached to the flap, which pulls open when the right kid pulls on it).
I've made a pinata before, but it was a class project 20 years ago when I was in the 1st grade and I can't remember how to go about putting the flap in.
So I'm wondering if there's a particularly fool-proof way of going about it. Reading a how-to, it said that I need to make a 4" X 4" flap... but I just don't want to break the pinata or something drastic like that since it's practically done.
Any advice you can give me? Please??
Thanks ahead of time.
