Pink Roses and Fans Dress
Mar. 31st, 2007 10:39 pmThis is the other dress I've made recently (it's like a polar opposite of the short fitted 60s-esque other one).

I love this fabric, I dug it of a basket in the shop that sells fabric by the weight. It's a beautiful floaty shiny satin covered in roses in various shades of pink and big outlines of fans in black.

I also bound the inside seams with pink ribbon to stop it fraying.

Unlike the other dresses I've been making recently this one didn't involve a pattern, though it involved a lot of adding up and measuring to work out how much elastic to use and where to put it (and then huge amounts of straight sewing as it was a rather large piece of fabric).
