glittering stretchy gloves

I have a pair of black opera (over the elbow) length gloves that are plain, black, shiny, stretchy material. They are part of a dance costume and apparently since another girl in the piece has black ones, mine are supposed to be a different color or have a pattern or something. I was thinking maybe I could cover them with glitter. I'm not sure how to go about that. I was thinking I could put them on (to ensure whatever adhesive I use doesn't crackle and that I don't end up with lots of empty space and weirdly glittered sections), have someone apply some sort of adhesive that won't be too stiff when dry, and sprinkle both gloves with glitter. Any flaws you can think of with that plan? Any suggestions for adhesive? Should I use fabric glue?
