machine trouble
May. 2nd, 2007 11:42 pmso... i searched the history and checked the faq and there was no mention of this brand serger... so...
does anyone have any experience with using gemsy sergers? i have a gemsy rxm-3d-a and holy mother of god is this thing a pain in my behind. i'm opting for handing it off to my close crafting friend and hoping she has better luck with it than i do, because i'm ready to throw it out a window. i've checked and rechecked and rechecked the threading (3-thread) and i can't find any errors on my part as far as threading goes and i can't get it to work. i snagged it off e-bay for about $100 which was all i could spare at the time, so i was pretty limited, and the cheaper ones i found got pretty bad reviews when i ran searches for them... so... here i am now, $100 later, with one majorly crappy machine. was just wondering if anyone had any pointers? any experience with this brand?
i'm not getting another serger right now, but i'm thinking of picking up a brother cs-6000i for its ooodles of overlocking stitches and it's quilting capabilities (i currently have an eight year old white i plan on pawning off to someone soon since i don't have much use for it anymore, and a morse - which is awesome for heavy duty sewing, neither of which have great overlocking stitch functions) and i searched for brother reviews and everyone pretty much had great things to say about their brother machines in this community, so.... wish me luck? or, rather, wish my friend luck, lol. she just acquired a new serger.
