A brand new vintage...
May. 10th, 2007 04:13 pmI made this Bacchus Pendant, a design (the second of its kind) from my Silver Leaves Collection, a while ago -- but it seems I never got around to posting it. So, here it is, for your grapeviney pleasure:

As usual, the leaf is a one-of-a-kind replica of a real leaf, handmade in fine silver (.999 pure), and the "stem" bail is made from the same. The curly vines are made from sterling wire, for extra strength, as are the posts that the lepidolite stone bead "grapes" are on. The leaf was tinted with an oxidation chemical. This piece was a pain in my *ss for no particular reason, refusing to tint the slightest bit green for me, through weeks of efforts to that end. I was so glad to finish it and send the thing off, so I wouldn't have to growl at it any more. All the same, I'd love to make a full Bacchus necklace. I guess I'm a sucker for punishment.
