My sister just found out she's 2 months pregnant. And she's happy about it. ;)

So I'd like to make up some stuff for the kid to be. I can crochet, and I can sew.

How big is a crib blanket? Making blanket and sheet sets on the machine seems like it could be pretty easy, so I'd love to do that for her (babies can be messy as we all know, so you can't have too many sheet sets!). I just don't know what the dimentions for a crib set are.

I realize I have a bit more leeway when it comes to crocheting up a blanket and that there are plenty of patterns out there that give you the final result's size, so that's not *as* important. However, my MIL's thing is to knit baby blankets (she does it in her free time, so she usually has at least one laying around "just in case"), so I'd rather concentrate on sewing up stuff for her. :)

Also, any tips for painting those very stretchy onesies? I'd also like to dye them - white and pastel colors are just *NOT* for me. Or for the parents to be. ;) So I'd love to sort of stamp/paint on cool logos and maybe dye white ones in vibrant colors instead of the icky plain pastels. Heh.

D00d, if I were ever able to have kids, they'd be so decked out. *snort*

Any and all help/tips are highly welcome - even if it's just for baby stuff in general and not on the topics I asked about! I'm not having kids, and I've never had them, so maybe there are other useful things I can give them that I can make cool looking?

~Kissy, who'd love to make the kid a fleece skull and crossbones blanket but think that's a little *too* out there for these parents...
