decoupage ideas?

craftgrrlokay so i have a ton of pictures of me and one of my bestfriends
i was thinking of doing some sort of decoupage but i am unsure of what to do it one.
i think just putting it on a large posterboard/cardboard might be tacky looking? idunno.
he is a guy so doing something like a jewlery box is out of the question. howver he is athletic, likes the army, etc.
do you guys/girls have any ideas of what kind of material i should use?
