[identity profile] frankcheez.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] craftgrrl
Craftgrrl member [livejournal.com profile] chellichanga just posted pics of an iPod cozy she made with old scarves and asked for ideas on what to do with other scarves. I told her I'd share with you something my friend and I made out of scarves we got from thrift stores.

It's a shower curtain! (click to enlarge)

It's made of 9 scarves sewn together with a 10th one cut up to square off the edges. It's got a white liner (not a shower curtain liner, but just a 2nd layer of the curtain itself because it was so thin) and then we topped it off with a beaded fringe at the top (I dunno if you can see that in the pic). I love it! It adds so much color to my bathroom, only took about 10 minutes to complete, and cost us very little to make. We made the whole thing for less than $10 total I imagine, including the trim and liner. Similarly styled ones for for about 3 times that in stores. Go make something fun out of your old scarves!
