space saving craftiness...
Jun. 3rd, 2007 07:48 pmSince everyone enjoyed my pot rack so much, I thought I would share some other kitchen space saving type things...
I have no counter space at all, and I needed a place to put my cutting board so that it can dry after I wash it, and just a storage place as well. So after looking forever for some sort of shelf or basket or such, I picked up a plate/frame holder and just screwed it right onto a cabinet.

While the space on the back of my stove is only about 2.5" wide, it actually makes a great spot for all those things you need while cooking. I used a hanging spice rack, and just set it there, a canister without the top for my utensils, etc.

I'm a real sucker for plants and for those bottles of infused oils, but have no room for either. So, my kitchen window turned into a gallery of mini plants and oils. The oil is especially nice as when the sun shines through the window it makes the things in the bottle glow bright colors. I like using drinking glasses and ceramic cups for pots as they are small enough to fit on a window sill while still being pretty. It's a pain in the butt to find pretty pots in mini size.
