Jun. 7th, 2007 08:13 pmI found a new craft that I enjoy. :D

What is it?? Hmm...Guess you'll have to click and find out...

TOOTHBRUSHES!...as bracelets! I've made a ton...some for myself and some for friends. I was watching some DIY show and they were showing how to make these...So, you know I had to try. :D
If anyone wants to know how to make these, let me know.
First you need the cheap toothbrushes. I bought these from Big Lots for .39 cents a piece. Thankfully I bought a few because it was a whole trial and error process. Blah.
Anyways... Boil a pan of water and then put the brushes inside... let them boil for a few minutes and then they become bendy....Get tongs and then bend them how you want them to...while they're still in the water though! I broke 2 while I was trying to bend them outside of the water. :( [and a can of sauce...lol don't ask.] It takes awhile to figure out the best way to bend them. But, if you mess up [and didn't break it] you can just put it back in the water to rebend it.
After you bend it how you want it, let it cool down so it's hard again...and then take plyers and pull out the bristles. [They're really annoying if you leave them. Trust me!] Plus, they start falling out on their own...so its better just to take them out.
and voila! Toothbrush bracelets.
And just because...

Shrinky dink heart bracelet. Hoorah. :]
