Due to tendonitis, I'm forced to wear wrist splints/braces full time. These are big ugly black things, covered in velcro, and I think they'd be much better in blue, possibly with stars. Does anyone know the best way to color velcro (both soft and scratchy side) without decreasing the effectiveness of it? I also remember painting velcro once and every time I pulled it open a puff of paint would come off, I'm hoping to avoid that. On the side of the velcro straps which are just cloth, would it be possible to color those with some sort of paint, or does the fact that they get moved several times a day mean no paint would last?

Can velcro be colored, or is it a lost cause? Thanks a ton, I'm not exactly crafty so any help decorating these things is greatly appreciated.
