I'm usually rather gothy/industrial in my clothing preferences an appearance. However I have a fondness for hiking, gardening, and camping. For these activities, it is generally considered best to wear muted, lighter, earthy tones. As black and blues not only absorb heat, but attract bugs. Also clothing is usually made from synthetics or wool... sometimes hemp and inego (a corn fiber I'm not sure I spelled correctly). Cotton is a no no.

When I wear this kinda stuff I usually feel rather off kilter. It's not my norm and I don't feel very attractive in it. So I'm trying to think of crafty ways to alter these sporty clothes into something I find more aesthetically pleasing.

Will appliques and transfers work on synthetic fabrics?
And does anyone else have any great ideas?
