so I haven't posted here in forever (you might know me as hidethedetails, p.s.) because I'm lazy. that's my only excuse.
howeverrr I took a couple (terrible) pictures of my recent craftiness. here we go..

is it a card? nooo..
it's actually a CD case. I made it for my boyfriend as a little gift for when I went and visited him (just got back. tear.).
the artwork is by kurt halsey (kurthalsey.com). I ordered that stationery, and kurt kindly wrote a quote from one of his works on it for me. I made a photo copy (I'm framing the original, duh) to use on the front.

here it is open.. the pockets are made of paper. kind of a tight fit at first. there are two CDs (driving and sleepytime). they are quite fantastic mixes, might I add. I drew allll over the CDs and included playlists (crucial.).

just another picture. CDs snug in their beds.
but then I figured I couldn't go stay at his mom's house without bringing her something too.. thus this purse was born! it was my first actual sewing project, eek! I'm making a purse for myself now, and eventually plan to make a skirt. we'll see how that goes :P.
anyway, she's a librarian, so only dick & jane fabric would do..

told you the pictures sucked.

me looking goofy and wearing it. interfacing next time!
I forgot to take a pic of the lining, but it's the same fabric as the pocket, and it's completely lined with pockets on the inside (two for pens/pencil, cell phone, larger pocket on one side, huuuge pocket on the other side).
she liked it :]. yay for mom points!
and I do believe that is all. I need to show off some more stuff sometime soon :].
