[identity profile] pumpsnail.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] craftgrrl
Hi everyone! I haven't posted in here for a while but I have been reading all the posts and getting much inspiration. I'm even dying Easter eggs for the first time in years, hooray, I'm so excited ^_^

Anyway, I started knitting a Harry Potter scarf using the pattern here (PDF - open with Adobe Acrobat). Even though I won't be done in, well, forever (I'm the slowest knitter in the WORLD! argh, the pattern calls for 17 stripes and I just started the third), I wanted to ask a question about finishing up the pattern. It says "sew seam for length of scarf"....what exactly does that mean? I'm assuming that since the picture looks like there's no "wrong" side to the scarf that the pattern is telling me to fold it in half and sew it up, purl side in? Am I right?

Also, I was trying to weave in the ends from when I did my first color change and realized I didn't have a tapestry needle or anything...but I found out you can use a safety pin! Just close the pin up, put the yarn through the circle deal at the bottom part of the pin, and then use it like a needle to weave the ends in. It's cool ;)

Last thing - I found out today that the spring issue of Knitty is out (I'm slow, sue me) and there are so many awesome patterns in there. I can't wait to finish this scarf so I can try some of them out!
