Invisible Stitch?

I've been trying to figure out how to make a plushie that isn't a complete mess! I've found images and written tutorials about how to close a hole by hand with an "invisible stitch", but I can't seem to get it too look right. I want to be able to make really small plushy things for magnets and key chains. Is that impossible to do by hand? Do any of you know of a video tutorial I could watch to get a better idea of how to pull this off? I'm so cluless when it comes to sewing! :(
