Day of the Tentacle!
Aug. 2nd, 2007 03:26 pmEvery once in a while when playing around in Fimo, I'll hit on something that I really enjoy making... and then spend way too much time making the same sorts of things over and over and over again. When I first started to fool around with Fimo, I became obsessed with monkeys. Then it was Totoros, then that obsession evolved into turning out tarantula after tarantula... and now?

Now I'm obsessed with making octopi!
Note: This will totally smoke any who has dial-up. Be warned!

This was the first octopus I made... I think it was two weeks ago? He sits on a strange purple rock, surrounded by bubbles and green water plants. There is also a fish. Yay fish!

I love his little tentacles. LUFF.
You know, for all the brainless, time-consuming work that is churning out tiny clay balls for suction cups on tentacles... it's really not that bad.

Tequila Sunrise!

This lilttle guy has been coined the 'fruit-on-the-bottom yogurt' octopus by one of my friends.

Tall and skinny and trying to be mildly realistic, this one is.
He is covered in bubbles! Hooray for bubbles!

Translucent Fimo + lightly coloured suckers and fish = something that looks as though it was spawned in a bowl of Froot Loops.

This fellow will stay on my keychain FOREVER!
(He's awesome because it's an octopus strapped to a bed of sushi rice! LOVE IT)

*resists using the 'two-heads-is-better-than-one' joke*

Also in purple!

Which is cuter? The nubbly tentacles? The chubbly cheeks? The tiny sushi?

This is the longer cousin to Mr Fruit-on-the-Bottom.
I loves the colours and the shiny bubbles.

Blue and sparkly octopus with a baby octo on it's side. Mit heart!

Aww, another concerned octopus-sushi keychain.
I have REALLY got to take pictures with better angles.

Tentacles count, right? Right?!
(I mean, he is in the subject line, after all)
And finally:

Woo!
