Tiny travel book -- picture heavy!
Aug. 3rd, 2007 10:13 amI saw this tutorial (here) and decided I wanted to make my own very small book. I made one using a business card that I gave to my boyfriend. This is my second one.
I used a cheap-o greeting card cut down to size, which I then covered with scrapbooking paper. The binding is sewn, per the tutorial, but I just used brown thread, which wasn't very sturdy. It's reinforced with clear tape. :/ Here's the cover

and first page.

It's a little travel guide to Italy. I very recently rekindled a friendship that fell apart over a year ago. She told me she and her boyfriend are going to Italy in a few weeks, so I decided to make a small book of basic information she might need. I lived there for 6 months and speak Italian, so I thought it might be helpful. And cute.
Here are some more shots:

Her first stop is Florence, so here's my Florence spread.

Then they're hitting Rome.

There are a few pages like this with phrases and little Italian symbols.

This is part of the guide to wine.

At left is the end to the wine guide, and at right is the beginning of the hot beverage (coffee and stuff) guide. The wine bottle is a sticker, and the coffee cup is my own terrible drawing.

Here's part of the section on money and the exchange rate.

And that's the last page. She'll be in Rome on her birthday, so I added the "buon compleanno" for good measure.
Sorry a couple of the photos are blurry; I was sickie pants last night but wanted to get this posted today.
Anyway, thanks for looking! I hope you enjoyed it.
