i like doing little quick sketches whenever possible because good things usually start that way for me. this is not necessary a good thing, but it's something i was able to document and share. here is a doodle on a brochure for an andrea zittel exhibit:



i scanned then traced the doodle and altered it a bit in adobe illustrator and then added some color:


then i outputted it in b&w line art so i can screenprint it with my gocco kit:


and the finished print, scanned (sorry, my scanner sucks (it's on one of those all-in-one printer/scanner/copiers) and the color is a little washed out):


anyone else here use the gocco printer?? maybe we can do an exchange. if you've never heard of it, i would describe it as an easy-bake oven for screenprinting. it's a nifty little machine from japan that was discontinued, but apparently is being produced again. more information about the gocco: http://www.savegocco.com/what.html
