Question about chain.

So I have this fine link chain that I bought to make a necklace from. However, the chain itself is a really bright, silvery color and it's... ehh... not really what I want. It didn't look bright in the package, but oh well.

What I'd like to know is if anyone has any idea how I might go about aging it or something along those lines? Or even making it a darker color, if possible. Any help or tips would be greatly appreciated.
