For my boyfriend's birthday, I'm stenciling him a t-shirt. I'm quite adept at the old freezer-paper + fabric paint method, and I've already sketched out the design I'm doing.

As a reference to a dream I had the first night he stayed over. (I woke up and told him about the epic war between tigers and seals and he was completely enthralled.)

Positioned on the shirt. (Yes, he's quite wee.)

What I really want to do is spray bleach onto parts of the shirt where the graphic will then be stenciled on top- bleach spritzes on the tiger's face and chest, under where the text will go, on the body of the seal, etc. So it would be a charcoal grey shirt with patches of white, and the design itself stenciled on top on black.

I went and bought the t-shirt today, and didn't realize until just now that the material is something called 'Jerzees EZClean', which 'made from %100 soft cotton, combines enhanced wicking technology and stain release properties allowing you to play as hard as you want and still keep your clothes looking newer longer.'

MY QUESTIONS:
1. Will the 'enhanced wicking technology' affect the bleach, do you think?
2. For those of you with experience bleaching, what color does dark charcoal grey bleach to, anyway? (I know black bleaches to orange and other unfortunate colors, and want to avoid that.)
3. Actually, any bleaching tutorials would be awesome. I know the basics, I have the vinegar and the gloves and the old toothbrush, but step-by-step instructions would be a great help.
4. Should I just avoid all the hassle and potential pitfalls and just stencil the damn thing on there and have it done? ...If so, any color reccommendations for the paint?

Many questions, I know, but any advice at all would be lovely. I don't want to screw this up too tremendously.

Thank you!!
