craftgrrl | my husband is beginning to get jealous

well.. maybe not lol. but i have been spending a lot of time with my crafts this week. more than usual. there is just so much inspiration in this community!

First up, my marble pendant I posted about a few days ago. There was an outstanding response with ideas and I so appreciate every comment you all left. Inspired, I went to Michaels and picked up a few things. But I'm still kinda ify about the way it looks. For now it's hanging on some memory wire by itself. Kinda plain but it works. I found some awesome leaf shaped spacers, so I may be adding those and some green and/or brown seed beads soon.

While I was at Michaels, I found several jewelry making kits that were on sale. So I bought them. I bought five of them to be exact. It really taught me a few things about putting together jewelry and pairing different types of beads. Soon I may be ready to venture out on my own. :-P Here are the two I've put together so far.

Also, while walking around Michaels, I found some beautiful assorted ribbons on sale ($1 a spool!) so I loaded up on those. When I got home, I couldn't decide what to do with them and I ended up making a couple different things.

The first is a ribbon bracelet with added beads. I really wanted one ginormous bead right in the middle but I didn't have any. :-( Still turned out neat. If you can't tell because of my crappy photo skillz, the white circles are the beads I added :-P and I used velcro to close it with.

Yesterday,mubeimmik posted some cute little cupcakes made from felt, stuffing, and old pop bottle lids. Very inspired, I made one for my wrist. It's not nearly as pretty as the ones mubeimmik made, but it serves my purpose. The ribbon is more of that $1 ribbon from Michaels and the blue fabric is just some I had lying around in a box.

That is all for now. There probably won't be much else from me for a couple weeks. Our apartment is in a terrible state of disarray and the semester starts on monday for my last semester of grad school.
