Need Help With Some Kind Of Adhesive...
Aug. 16th, 2007 10:46 amYou guys are all so good with knowing all the different supplies out there, I thought I'd ask here.
I am doing a project with the kids in my piano studio. They're playing a modified version of Chutes and Ladders for the fall semester. Basically, if they meet their practice goals for the week, they get to spin the spinner and move their piece. When a student reaches the end of the board, they earn a point for their team and then get to start over again.
So I bought a bunch of Chutes and Ladders boards, 1 for each team. The deal is, I need some kind of flat playing piece that I can stick to the board somehow, trust that it won't fall off, but have it be temporary so that when they move their piece the next week at their lesson, it will come right up. I teach some of my lessons in students' homes, so I'll be hauling the boards with me and can't just leave them set up somewhere. That's why the pieces need to be flat (so I can fold the boards).
I was thinking of maybe using those thin poker chips for the game pieces. I know I can get those at the dollar store. They come in a bunch of colors, and I could put each student's name on one with a little sticker. But I still don't know what to do to make them stick to the board. I thought of maybe using a bit of that poster-tack stuff you use to stick posters to walls. I also vaguely remember using a glue-stick once that had the kind of stick-um that you have on post-it notes... but I don't think that'd work if I use plastic game pieces.
The other part is, the game starts September 1 and goes up until the studio's Christmas party. So whatever I do, it needs to be somewhat durable.
Anyone have any ideas for either pawns or stick-um?
Thank you!!
