craftgrrl | craftgrrl facebook group? and i'm building a table.

i was wondering if anyone would be interested in joining one. i was searching facebook for a craft group but i haven't found any that are well-organized or active. if the moderators will allow it to be affiliated with the livejournal version, i'll make it. if not, i'll use a different name.

i'm working on turning one of those Singer cast iron sewing table base things into a...table. it's probably gonna hold my tv. i got one from the thrift store the other day, just the bottome part. it's a lot of work. i scrubbed it down with steel wool yesterday to get the rust off. whew. the wood i got has a really nice grain and i'm staining it to match an antique dresser i got (i refinished two of the drawers on that as well, i should post pictures some time).
I'm thinking of spray-painting the base black since the iron is worn and faded. unless you gals have any better ideas?
