[identity profile] rabid-wombat.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] craftgrrl
So my last post was all about how I was all about the Octopus and it's myriad of little friends I finagled out of Fimo. I mentioned that earlier in the year I had been obsessed with spiders and tarantulas and promised to post them. My friends list has already been spammed by these spiderlings, but not you guys (as far as I know). Anyways, here they are!

WARNING: If spiders give you the heebies, jeebies, creeps or sweeps, you may not want to be be clickink.
ALSO WARNING: I've linked to a couple actual tarantula sites with pictures, though all the eight-legged critters on this post are completely fake.

Even though he's older than dirt, I love this guy and his sparkely bottom. Loosely modeled after the cobalt blue tarantula.
He only just fits on the palm of my hand. A nice-sized fellow!

Ah, the strawberry spider. Outgoing, friendly and goes great in jams.

Ah, the red oozing buttblood spider. Just as friendly, but does NOT go so well in jams.

Man, what's not to love about this little guy? I'm especially fond of it's colours.
He's only an inch wide!

My attempt at a bold jumping spider. I never thought I'd say it, but from far away jumping spiders are about the cutest critters ever... but close up? Them buggers is FREAKY!
(I had to Google the name of this one since I forgot and saw way Way WAY too many macro shots of jumping spiders. ERUGH)

This one is made after the pink-toed tarantula and is even bigger than the cobalt blue by a good inch or two.
I'm mildly sad that it looks like a $1 Halloween decoration. ;_;

A patchwork spider. Now, if ever there was an inoffensive-type spider, this would definitely be it.
I like to spin this one around and watch the colours zip by. :)

Modeled after the Greenbottle blue tarantula. I had so much fun with the colours that I had to go and make it a mini-me!

Something about this little fellow makes him seem so contemplative.

Something about this one makes me think that if he was a real spider, he'd be dang poisonous.
(probably because years of video games has trained me that green things = POISON)

Why oh WHY am I reminded of banana slugs at a time like this?
Smallest spider I've made yet!

A few weeks ago I cranked out a bunch of Fimo grapevines. The remaining mixed clay went in to make this guy.
I luffs the colours!

So I was thinking: tarantulas have some awesome colours/patterns going...but they're just not awesome enough.  Time for cat-like fur patterns!
First up: Tiger!

Next: Snow Leopard (my personal favourite)

Next next: Leopard (I loves his little back feet)

Finally:

If you still don't think spiders can be cute, TAKE A LOOK AT THIS GUY! He has bear ears! Itty bitty bear ears!
I want a big plush of this fellow. I luffs him so.

The end!

Wait! Not the end!

Again I forgot to do a size-comparison picture to show how big/small these little boogers are. It's not much, but here ya go!

::Edit:: Probably the funniest thing about this whole post is that I'm afraid of spiders. I've gotten better of late, in that I don't do the 'icky icky' dance if I see one on the wall across the apartment, but I've yet to break myself of the habit of screaming like a hurt rabbit whenever I see one. Heck, when I had to go through different spider/tarantula image galleries for colours and names, I had to leave the room a bunch of times due to my stomach not cooperating and getting all ooky on me.
