Aug. 22nd, 2007 04:35 pmI'm just curious - how many of you crafty people are Pack Rats like me? If you are, what sort of goodies do you hang onto? Do you have uses in mind for it? Or do you just keep it on hand in case inspiration strikes?
When I was a little kid, I'd drive my mother nutty because I'd grab stuff from the wastebasket for my art. I wish there were more industrial recycling resource stores near me, but maybe that's a good thing!
I save lots of containers for storing supplies in. I have stashes of onion bags & soap boxes I think would be great to hold small gift items. I have magazine clippings & scraps of wrapping papers I'm saving for decoupage projects, and scraps of mat board slated for tiny photo frames. I've been searching for years to find a source of round, cardboard 3 gallon size ice cream tubs and lids for a large-scale tote project. Does anyone have any leads on these? I'd rather buy them new than collect them one at a time from ice cream shops.
