Sewing Machine

I found this Janome "Sew Mini" sewing machine online the other day when I was, once again, contemplating getting a sewing machine. And now I'm debating whether or not I should go for that one.

Really, the price is a big selling point for me, $50 plus shipping and handling is actually in my price range - I don't have $100-200 to invest in a sewing machine. I would consider investing in a better machine, but I doubt I'll do much more than sewing a couple totes or little bags and things with it and I have big space constraints also (woot for dorm rooms).

At this point, I'm just wondering if this is a good product to go for, considering what I'll be using it for and how much it costs. Wondering if anybody else has one or knows of someone with one and what they think of it?

Phew - avoided that mistake and have taken to shopping around some more. I've been poking around eBay and have come up with the Brother XL 5130 and the Singer 57820 so far. Any thoughts on these machines, or buying used/refurbished machines? Seen anything lately on eBay or elsewhere on teh interwebs that might be of use?

Went for the Brother XL5130 - it actually ended up being cheaper than I was willing to go - woo for eBay! Hopefully it'll work well and I made the right decision to go for that one.
