Amethyst Beads
Sep. 13th, 2007 12:55 amWhen I was 4 years old my very Belgian Grandpa Bernie liked to show me off around NYC, because I was so well mannered. He used to take me for tea in fancy restaurants, because I knew which forks and spoons to use, and then we'd go on special outings. One of those outings involved grandpa Bernie taking me to the diamond district, and having an amethyst (my birthstone) bead necklace strung up for me on silk cord. Well, after 19 years the cord decided to crap out and I was stuck having to learn how to bead. Today I hit up Michael's for some beady goodness, and here is what happened...

The dark purple round beads are the ones from Grandpa Bernie's neckalce

*EDIT* This is a pic of my Grandpa Bernie, and my Grandma Anne. They have been married for over 50 years. Just incase you were curious about what my Grandpa looks like.
Sorry for the crappy quality of the pics, I had to use my scanner.
Have a great day,
Adrianne

This was my first attempt at hemp. It was amazingly easy as I was the plastic lacing queen as a tween.
