I made a batch of soap after all this weekend!

A small batch, and it's actually shampoo bars. I've been wanting to try it.
65g Castor Oil
162g Coconut Oil
550g Olive Oil
97g Tallow (I used lard)
15g beeswax
18g cucumber FO
117g lye
discounted water to about 300g I'd guess (328 suggested, and I kinda randomly poured a little out)

I used a small milk carton as a mold... I like the small square shape and thought that might work well. I plan to just "peel" it off and dispose of it. It's an experiment. The size batch was perfect for it, until I realized I had to insulate it. So... don't laugh anyone... I covered the top with a plastic baggie, wrapped the whole thing in towels and... put it in the microwave. That way it's cat-safe, and it should keep it warmer.

I haven't done cold process soap in a while.. my last few batches were hot process. Which, while you get instantly usable soap, is much more of a pain in the rear to make. I forgot how easy cold process was!

House smells yummy, and I'm sleepy. Most of the mess is picked up.

(Is it just me, or does anyone else who makes soap always want to try adding the water to the lye to see what the violent reaction is? I won't do it... but I wanna. :) )
