I have a bunch of otherwise unusable CDs that I'd like to make...something out of. I plan on hooking them together using large-ish jump rings to form some kind of cool wall hanging or something.

Problem? I can't figure out how to put small holes in the discs to fit the jump rings through. My old standby of making small holes in things was to hold a nail with a pair of pliers over an open flame and use that to burn a small hole through something. [It worked well when I was dating a musician early in high school and liked to wear his guitar picks as jewelry.] That didn't work this time, though. A CD is obviously too strong for your standard paper hole punch.

I'd use a drill if I had to, but I'd rather not go to that extreme...and plus, wouldn't it crack the disc anyway?

I know this is a really dumb question and it's probably very obvious, but I just can't figure out how I can get holes into these discs. Help! =)
