Crafty Goodness
Oct. 13th, 2007 11:03 pmI have spent the last 5 months in the middle of the woods, so to keep me from going insane any faster than necessary, I had wifi and crocheting to keep me happy and occupied. However, if I have one more person ask me "What are you knitting?" I'm gonna gouge someone's eye out, seriously. Do I look like I'm sitting here knitting and purling? HELL NO, I'm using a hook dammit, so pay attention!
ANYWAY. . . its been a warm summer in the Adirondacks, but I've steadily crocheted and I'm glad I did, cause it got f-ing cold the last couple of days. DAMN YOU JACK FROST!
WARNING! IMAGE HEAVY UNDER THE CUT!
So the summer was mostly spent crocheting dozens and dozens of squares. And so I had all these square, what to do with them? BAM!

140-some squares later and I have me a tacky looking but incredibly warm twin size blanket!
Oh, more blanket pictures, LOOK!
Stitching, which was made in camo colored yarn, which totally adds to the tackiness!

Some up close and personal pictures of the colors- these are all from balls of yarn that really couldn't do much on their own, but if you make small enough squares, then you can tack them together like this!
Well, I'm from the midwest and it gets damn cold there. And I'm now in the ADK and it gets damn cold here too, only much earlier, so I made this bad boy first cause I suck at crocheting in the round and I wanted something different.

Ooh yay! Hooded scarf and in awesome colors too (the blue is called Denim, I loved it so much I bought two more skiens of it)

The scarf modeled by my awesome Moose. He has no name, but he's a good moose to model this for me.

And cause I'm antsy, I added pockets so I can stick my hands somewhere
The next thing on my list to complete was mittens. After totally failing hardcore with my own pattern, luck would grant me a link with Joann Fabrics and Lion Yarn to a whole slew of kick ass patterns (knit and crochet) and here I found the worlds EASIEST MITTEN PATTERN. I died, I cried, I busted out my denim yarn and went to town.

I attached some of these decorative woodsy buttons as a creaive way to tack down the rolled up cuffs.
For those interested in the WORLD'S EASIEST MITTEN PATTERN, here's the link:

And since I got bored, I decided to go ahead and make a hat. THere is a link for the matching hat to the mittens I crocheted, but I got antsy with the pattern, so combining that and making some of my modifications, I came up with my VERY FIRST HAT. WOOT!

More of the woodland buttons, but I used the moose, cause I love moose.
