ok.
so.

Me and this friend love Welcome To the Black Parade, and me with my awesome(better described as ambitious, both feet first) sewing skills, have decided that we need Black Parade jackets.

I'm gonna die. But I'm gonna die a very happy person.
Anyways.
I've made a lot of hoodies and whatnot before - with no patterns. Don't yell at me. Yes, they look nice. And plus someone else is going to visit that can help with the more technical things like zippers and trim.

My friend wants the one with striped sleeves, so should I go for striped fabric, or sew strips together? And what fabric does it look like? I can't tell...

And any other tips will be greatly appriciated!

EDIT:

Does this supply list look accurate?

-plain jacket pattern + another in plus size
-black twill
-white twill
-grey twill
-white binding tape
-silver military-style buttons
-black zippers

I'll sew strips together for the sleeves, because that just looks nicer in my opinion. I'll ask my sewing friend if she knows how to do a lining, and then do that in some kind of awesome shiny fabric like...um...I'm thinking satin but I know that's not what it's called. Hers will be red on the inside, and mine will be green - to give it a little of our own personalities :)

Anyone got a jacket lining tutorial?
And should I sew the binding tape directly on, or use Wonder Under?

I'm going to be taking a class on a quilted jacket, and I assume it has a zipper, so I'll probably start these after that class.
