[identity profile] wild-huntress.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] craftgrrl
There didn't seem to be anything that addressed my questions that had been posted already. Basically, I'm looking to make myself an iPod pouch with some writing and decoupage on it. I'd like to use some really thick, sturdy paper that would be strong enough to hold the iPod, but... paper-ish enough to write something on it and decoupage an image onto it. This store, which is basically the only one I'll be able to get to any time soon as there's a branch right near me, has an interesting selection of rice paper, Nepal paper, brocade paper and mulberry paper, among others. I could use mod podge to attach the image, and I'd invest in some pretty ink and a calligraphy pen to do the writing as I've wanted to get into that for a while. Which sort of paper (if any) would work? Is there something that I'm missing? Like, would those kinds of paper not be good enough for any part of this process?

Thanks in advance.

ETA: Actually, while I'm at it, do you think it would be possible to make a necklace using a similar process, by mod podging an image and some nice paper onto a wooden disk or ornament, then attaching that to a funky cord? Has anyone done things like this before?
