What I've been working on
Nov. 7th, 2007 08:24 pmThis is what I began with:

(Except, really, it was much more yarn than that.)
I made a crap load of these:

And then... after lots and lots of work, I ended up with this:

(Pardon the blur, my camera wasn't cooperating that day.)
The famed Babette Blanket. Maybe you've heard of it, maybe not. It's gaining a lot of popularity. You can find the pattern in a back issue of Interweave Crochet magazine. It's really simple, but very time consuming. Great for those of us that always need to have our hands in something.
With the pattern it is only about lap blanket size, but I want it much much bigger. I have mapped out some additional panels to make it big enough to cover my entire bed. I need to buy some more yarn, and crank out another sixty something squares, but it will be oh so worth it. It is so nice and warm! I can't wait to be done, and yet I'm sad that it is so near completion. This has been the most fun project I've ever worked on. It has been a labor of love. I am happy to say, "I made this!" :D
eta: thank you for the nice comments!
