Mermaid Jewelry
Nov. 20th, 2007 01:39 pmI made jewelry.
Flat pieces made from sculpey, pressed with a rubber stamp, baked and painted.
Finished with purchased glass beads, jewelry wire, jump rings and crimp beads.

The necklace:

(actual necklace is a Silpada design that I used to my advantage)

Earrings:

I printed the backs of the bigger pieces and painted on them in black so they'd be a little more interesting. I'll be painting the backs of all the smaller flat bits black too. They like to flip, unfortunately.
The Bracelets and anklet:

The stamp:

It's my first time trying something like this, so unfortunately they're not really strong. I've already broken three of the pieces (they were spares) and one on a bracelet.
Also, I unfortunately forgot to spray seal them before wearing them, so some of the paint came off (as you can see) so I'll have to retouch them and then seal the heck out of them.
All in all though, I'm pretty pleased with it.
