first, hello... second, help!
Mar. 24th, 2003 03:18 pmhey all.... i just joined this community today, and already i'm super inspired to go digging through my enormous "oh this would be cool for an art/craft project" box of supplies that's been neglected for too long. so thanks for the motivating kick in the ass. =)
now for the important stuff.... i just finished sewing a set of roman blinds for my apartment, which came out pretty snazzy, if i do say so myself, and now have my sights set a little higher. i want to make a slipcover for a pretty cool vintage sofa i have (the pattern is great, just not my style). it's small, maybe about 6ft long, and all in one piece - no cushions. has anyone done this before? i'm curious how much fabric i'll need to buy. i'm probably just gonna tuck-and-staple a lot of it rather than custom sewing corners, but i still have no idea how to gauge how much fabric to get.
also, any good, cheap online fabric store recommendations? (i'm sure this is in the FAQ...)
any advice would be totally appreciated...
