craftgrrlQuick! I've got 100% plain unbleached cotton yarn, 'wick' thickness, could I dip it into wax and make my own wicks for candles?

I realize candle wick is cheap and easy to buy, but I have an F-TON of cotton yarn. A thousand thanks ahead of time!
(and I did buy wicks...but I am THINKING the cats ran off with the package.)
