my xmas tree
Dec. 19th, 2007 12:09 amwow. craftster makes me feel so woefully inadequate.
at least my tree with its handmade and hand-embellished ornaments makes me so happy whenever i see it. here are some pix:
i sewed felt balls with foam cores in brown, green, ivory & dark red. you can see them here on the tree complete (w/ and w/o flash):

i cut up a silk poinsetta bush and lined the petals with gold leaf pen and wrapped foam balls in ivory & gold pipe cleaners.

i wrapped foam balls (see a pattern here?) in wide green glitter ribbon and tied the ends with red and gold tinsel pipe cleaners. they kinda look like giant candies.

i also made the tree topper by gluing dark red tulle to a golden glitter apple in honor of Her Lady ov Discord.

the Tree also features gold plastic balls, gold glitter snowflakes, pearl strands, big green jingle bells, dark red glittery gifts & ivory and gold wired ribbon. its sort of pet friendly so my cat won't end up with broken glass in her paws. that was my main concern as this is her first tree since she was a wee kitten (she is 11 pounds of muscle now) and i wanted soft and lightweight ornaments until i know she can be trusted not to bring the whole rig down on her block-head.
and for a heaping helping, here's my decorated bar (w/messy counter + kitchen):
