Sealing a Mural in a Nursery?
Jan. 2nd, 2008 11:10 amHey everyone -- my husband and I are expecting a little boy in March and I've been working on a mural in the nursery.

Here it is almost finished -- I still have to do a second coat in a couple places and may still make a couple changes to a few things I'm not 100% happy with.
My question is, the paint pen that I used for the outlines says that I should use an acrylic sealer. I'm thinking I'd like to do this on the entire wall, since Acrylic paints can chip and I want the wall to be safe and touchable. Does anyone have experience with this? Should I be making a trip to Michaels or to Lowes? Am I looking for something in a rattle can or a brush/roll on type? Will I be able to find something non-glossy or at least only semi-gloss?
ETA: thanks everyone for the suggestions (and the compliments!) and yes, don't worry, we will be sure to ventilate and I'll make the husband do it. :D

Here's me standing next to it earlier this week to show you how big everything is on the wall. Also, this is in natural light as opposed to the flash, so you can see it a little better.

Here's the original sketch. I went a lot lighter on the greens and moved some stuff around to fit the wall better.
