so. my fabulous husband bought me a singer for christmas. thanks to [livejournal.com profile] mawychick, i have been working on becoming more and more crafty over the past couple of years. thus, i figured it was time to get my own sewing machine and see what i could do with it. after much frustration, bad words, and throwing some things, i got it to work well enough to make a couple of kitty pillows for my suki kitty. i still don't think the bobbin is working properly, or my tension is off or something, but it sews and stays sewed. so for now, that's good enough for me!

this is sukitty's new pillow.

she likes it. but it's my second try.

my first try i used some not so pretty material just incase i fucked it up beyond all recognition. but, she likes the ugly one too.

i had a hard time figuring out how to get the last little bit to sew together nicely after inserting the stuffing stuff...so they both look kinda meh up close. but, from far away they look pretty good!

thoughts on how to sew the last bit closed neatly? i've scoured the googles and have found nothing useful to me. maybe i'm just brain dead this evening...

thanks for looking!
