For my husband's 40th Surprise Birthday Party!

Hi all!

What I am looking for are thing I can create for my hubby's 40th surprise birthday party!

Games, crafts, decorations, etc...

While I am pretty creative myself, finding the place and or time when he is not home to do a few projects WITHOUT him seeing is the problem!

Surprise Party is set for February 23, 2008!

I do have the help of a few friends/family/MIL & FIL , etc...

So that is ok. BUT..they are not all crafty! ~here lies the problem~

What I am looking for are things that can be done ahead of time (most of the ideas I can help with to do...but..I own a business that is VERY busy and I cannot often be available all day) I can help with and maybe do MOST of it...but not all of it.

I know...this is vague at the least.....this is my problem!

I would love great ideas to help pull this off!

I am planing on having a few games (btw..any that you have for an ADULT birthday party would be great) and favors, we have of course a huge appetizer menu, dinner and drinks...but I am looking for that "extra" that can be done :)

Btw, the invites I sent out are very upbeat and not the "OMG, your turning forty black and white death sentence, over the hill type of invites" LOL! But they are rather the funky, colorful and full of surprises (baby 40's and stars cut outs that I am sure made a mess whom all that opened it, lol).

So now that I have babbled on long enough, what I need are some ideas to have fun for adults...but sort of shorter games and only a few of them, since there will be a huge bon-fire as well. (so I would think a lot of ppl. would be in and out type of thing). What I would like to do is to have a few times where everyone will gather and play a game that is geared to the birthday boy.

And that is my dilemma!

I am thinking since there will be about 30-60 minutes before we (birthday boy) arrive to have have some sort of game BEFORE we get there that the guest can work on...and then have the answers relayed after the 40 yr old gets there? ~hehe~

What I would also like is to have an interactive game of sorts going on BEFORE we get there and then end shortly after we arrive (so they/we do not lose the momentum) and the guests will get gifts/prizes (that I have supplied) this way it gets the guests involved and in a fun mood) and will enjoy playing!

Most of our guests are in the 30-40's range..and our/this type of party is not likely to sit around waiting for games and such...they are more of a move around type of party (inside/outside to the bon fire type) therefore why it is hard to come up with a few games that everyone can play and enjoy!...wWich is what I am looking for!

Gosh..this is hard! ~lmoa~

Thanks if you read this far...

And THANKIES if you responded with an idea! :)
