Crafty horse peoples?

I has questions. I want to make a breast strap for my horse P. I found a style I think I could make, although it's mostly in eventing horses I see it used. I'd like to make one just to keep my saddle from slipping back on trail rides. I ride on these nifty trials that are super hilly. Makes my saddle slip back sometimes, sometimes a lot.

So it wouldn't be any real major usage on this. I'm sure this one is leather but I don't know where to get leather like that or how to use it.

What else do you think would work?



It's that white fuzzy thing that's going across the horses chest. I'm sure that's a fleece cover which I could make, lol without asking questions. If I could make a good one then I could make matching fuzzy covers for all my saddle pads.

Or something.
