New shoees--x-posted

So, I colore these shoes last night and I'm extremely proud of them:




But does anyone have anysuggestions for how I should waterproof them?
I could have sworn I wrote more before, but apparently I got distracted... anyway, I colored these with sharpies and they are no boundaries flats from wal mart, thus not being leather, they're man-made, but they're plastic-y, not canvas. Isn't there some sort of sealant(eek, spelling) I can use?
