I'm currently in a production of CHICAGO, and to save some money I think I'd like to paint my 4+ years old beaten-up character shoes instead of buying a completely new pair. They are currently a nude color with all-leather uppers, and I want to paint them black.
My question is generally regarding the type of paint I should use. I don't want to use spray paint because it will chip and the show is very dance-intensive, and the finish on the shoes needs to remain matte because glossy shoes will look like patent leather... and well, that's just tacky. Is there a specific brand of leather paint that can be used just for this kind of project?

Any and all suggestions are gladly welcomed. :D
