craftgrrl | Some wedding bling (Reply)

I haven't posted in a while, but I have been hard at work on my wedding jewellery. My theme is the "1940's Gangster" sort of thing (men in zoot suits, etc.) and I finished my tiara this weekend.

Made from the remnants of a bracelet/necklace combination I had in my stash (I have a shit-ton of old, some beat-up, antique jewellery that I regularly cannibalize for unique bits and bobs). The rest is swarovski crystals and some pearls that may or may not be real--also from my stash. It took a lot of fiddling and playing and I love it.

First, a view of the whole thing from the front with a napkin in the background to show the details:

Next, a close-up of the centre of the piece and a very good depiction of the colour scheme of the wedding, Black, Silver and Gold.

Lastly, another picture of the whole thing from the front, but just set atop the head of my foam head form just to give an idea of what it might look like on the day.

The sides are just twisted wire and will likely get shortened after I have my first appointment with the hairdresser. I figured I'd leave that up to him/her to make its application to my head as easy and painless as possible.
