Ideas please...

My hubby brought me home one of these:

it's a very dense ball made of roses. It's about 4.5 inches wide. We have a retro-lite home decor in the family room with a blue sectional sofa and a red velvet sectional sofa in our reading room. The reading room has a stronger kitsch vibe. We are blue collar folks, my hubbers is a punk, chef ,and a machinist and I am a stay-at-home mom and court-reporting student. Oh, and he is Irish and I am Chicana. 

I know I am giving lots of info about us, but I want to do something with this gift that actually has something to do with our family.
