Nintendo NES plushie - retro stylin'!
Mar. 2nd, 2008 10:01 amPhew!
My name is Holly, nice to meet you all!
This is my first post here, but I wanted to wait until I had something extraspecially special to post. I will put the photos behind a cut so you're not spammed too much, but this sucker took me about 2 weeks of blood, sweat, and tears (that explains why one of the corners was soggy, oops!) so I want to show it off!
So without further ado, here it is...

Oh la la..

A close up of the embroidery. Let's all pretend it's not wonky. Best pretender gets a prize!

Audio and video outlets.

The power switch and... uh... two other pretty coloured outlets.

The controller, with comically oversized buttons.

Whee, action shot!

Crafted from polar fleece, various quantities of felt, embroidered details, and foam inserts cut to size (AND I came away unscathed after the cutting process!).
I would really love to make more of these, but considering the time involved and the amount of materials, I think they're going to have to be a commission-only thing. Although I do have plans to try a GameBoy, soon! One of the old chunky ones because I'm not game enough (bad pun! I probably should have said masochistic enough) to try creating a flip lid like the DS's have.
So please feel free to come over to my crafting blog,
