I just winged this pair and was so happy with the result and found it so easy, I made a pattern to share with you guys. If you use it, please show me: I'd love to see them in other colors. :)

Hi grrrls....

I tried to post this in Knitting, but it was never approved, probably because it's an extremely stupid question. But I still can't figure it out, so here goes:

It concerns this (free--take note, mods) pattern on Ravelry.

The lace pattern is knit in 4 groups of 11 stitches each, in the pattern:

K2Tog, K2Tog, YO, K, YO, K, YO, K, YO, K2Tog, K2Tog

Now, I can count, and this pattern appears to both take and make not 11, but 15 stitches. I tried just casting on in groups of 15, but that will make the gloves too wide for me (or I'd have to do 3 groups of 15, which might mess things up later on).

Could someone please explain how I'm miscounting here? I feel absurdly stupid.

So I recently stumbled upon Denise Interchangeable Knitting Needles and it sounds pretty awesome. Has anyone bought the set and could tell me how they've been working out? I'm a poor university student but if it's worth it, I'll totally run down to a local yarn store and buy them ASAP.

Bonus question: I'm making circular scarves for two boys aged 5 and 6. What would be an appropriate width and length? (They live in another province, so I can't measure them)

So I'm a newish Knitter. I'm working on a hat on circular needles. Somehow I've managed to put a twist into the hat itself. Will this fix itself after I'm done knitting the thing? Or am I just screwed and need to start over (again)

Thanks!

I recently purchased a new digital camera and didn't like any of the cases available. I like zombies and toaster pastries. So why not combine the two? Meet Zed, the zombie toaster pastry cozy.

My brother got married yesterday, and I knitted part of their wedding gift. I made them "The Pillow of Sei Shonagon" from the Knitalong book.

The whole pillow.

I have declared 2009 the Year of the Bonfire, and dedicated the year to creative pursuits. I might well have named it Year of the Pirate Hat, however, since I seem to be churning these things out like an assembly line!

Nonetheless, when friends decided to have a pirate-themed wedding in June, how could I resist gifting them with the one pirate-themed craft I know?

Link to post with photos of gift and presentation, including handmade card.

I finally finished the two color cushion/pillow I was making for my friends' wedding. I worked from 5pm on the 9th until 10am on the 10th. Straight, no sleep. I was mad at the back, every time I measured it against the front I had just one or two rows left...Literally every time. At 9am I bound the rows off and began sewing the two together- 92 sts as the pattern called for was too long, and it was just barely wide enough. I cried while sewing it up and wailed that they wouldn't like it but I had nothing else to give them.

They loved it! Said it matched their furniture perfectly. I was so relieved and ecstatic. Here's the finished product.

Sorry for the size, I haven't figured out how to thumbnail it and linking never seems to work right -_-;

Hi everyone.

Every Tuesday night my gf's meet up for Craft Group - lots of yummy food, gossip and crafting! I recently finished this apron for my bf and have moved onto one for myself.

And I also recently finished my first actual knitting project - a technicolour scarf! I am so terribly proud of it.

Hullo lovelies! So, first off, the shiny finished object - I've just done another pair of socks. They are wonderfully comfy and warm and colorful. Knit in Regia Design Line, from the Gentlemen's Half Hose pattern in Knitting Vintage Socks. Modified slightly for a shorter leg.

Spiderman is in here, a little help please? )
It is a pretty cool print, but I have no idea what to do with it. Any suggestions? I've seen people do great dresses out of this sort of thing, but I don't think it would be flattering on me as a dress. Maybe some other garment? Have any of you done something like this? My new sewing machine should be showing up in a couple days and I am super-excited, so I want to have a plan all ready when it gets here! Any thoughts appreciated. :D

The lj-cut is giving me some trouble... I hope it works...

Phoenix/Draconic Capelet. Knitted from the Red Fraggle yarn [livejournal.com profile] tictactoepony spun a while back.

Made from this pattern but extended & modified into three points. I am very pleased with the results, especially as this is my first piece of pattern modification!

Hello, people! I'm a member of this community on a different account, but very rarely participate despite being very crafty - started this account as a dedicated craft blog, so hopefully will be around more. :)

I recently started knitting socks - I started about a week before Easter, I think. These are all the ones I've done since then. They're all from the book Knit Socks. I just got another book, though, and have been checking out patterns online, so should have some variety soon...

That's all for now! I think I may be obsessed...

Just in time for the last of the winter blast here on the east coast, I finished my Chunky Vogue Lace Scarf.  I love it, it's so warm.  And I finished my Charlotte Purse, one of five I have planned.
